ABSTRACT

Harm in organisations is corrosive. Unchecked, it seeps into every corner. Anyone who has worked in any organisation for any length of time has experienced it. Yet, outside of conventional health and safety issues, the subject is hardly covered in business books, with a few exceptions.2 Why? Mainly because it’s unpleasant to have to face up to the darker side of human nature; second, because data on harms at work are not yet being fully collected. But if Principled Persuaders are to have any chance of creating a happy working environment, they must be aware of the numerous harmful barriers in the way.
