ABSTRACT
Within the framework o f the epidemiological transition model, this Chapter will first chart and then explain the mortality trends o f the G ulf States. Given the inadequacy o f G ulf vital statistics data, particularly those related to mortality statistics, the analysis will rely on various observed rates (simpler rates computed from actual data), and some adjusted rates (hypothetical representations o f the mortality level), drawn primarily from Bahraini and Kuwaiti data.
