ABSTRACT

How can we recognize modern philanthropy? What distinguishes this sector from others? Is it a social sector with its own ethical framework? What makes modern philanthropy exclusive or unique? Does it represent particular values, which help to create its distinctive profile? Existing, clearly defined social sectors have their own values, ethical codes and rules, and also their own culture. The world of sport looks different from the banking world or the world of public administration. Therefore, when considering the profiling and professionalization of the philanthropy sector, it is appropriate to reflect on what might constitute its culture and ethics.
