ABSTRACT

International travel alters routine and can markedly affect mental state (BarEl, 1991 ). Relocation is a recognised stressor (Lucas, 1987). Vocational, leisure and relocation activities involving road, rail and air travel are a routine of modem life. All modes of transport can be anxiety provoking. However, airborne travel appears to create more psychological upset than other transportation (Mcintosh et al., 1998).
