ABSTRACT
Perhaps by this point the Christian who is skeptical of Darwinian evolution is willing to concede a certain logical coherence to the foregoing. Yet no mere intellectual assent seems capable of expunging his or her gut feeling that a good God would not tolerate the suffering that an evolutionary universe must entail. What more can be said to assuage this existential anxiety?
