ABSTRACT
One unique characteristic of the G7/8 summits is the fact that the top leaders of the world's eight most influential countries meet regularly to exchange views face to face and to make proposals on the issues that are most important to their societies. Depending on the leadership at the time, this process offers an opportunity to promote peace in the world as well as an opportunity to develop political, economic, and environmental policy co-operation.
