ABSTRACT

In this chapter, we explore transport’s impacts on people’s lives from a rural perspective. The chapter uses the findings of the primary research carried out in Charlbury in West Oxfordshire as a basis for the understandings of transport and social inclusion that are developed as the chapter progresses. These findings are supported by secondary data from a previous study of access to health care in Oxfordshire. The chapter begins with an overview of the case study and then moves on to a description of the research findings. The implications of these findings are then discussed.
