ABSTRACT
Israeli architects have worked extensively in sub-Saharan African states from the late 1950s to the beginning of the 1970s, designing the institutions that would foster the former colonies’ newly acquired independence.1 Their expertise was made available mostly through the mediation of a cooperation program designed to promote and sustain diplomatic relations between Israel and the newly independent countries in Africa.
