ABSTRACT
This chapter considers how pupils described their responses to the project in terms of how much they did, or did not, enjoy it. The topic of enjoyment revolved around two main areas. One concerned music-making. The other concerned the project’s pedagogy, particularly the relative autonomy that pupils were granted to direct their own learning. It became apparent that these two areas – music-making and autonomous learning – were deeply connected in relation to enjoyment levels.
