ABSTRACT

One day in the early summer of 1695, there was a dinner party at the Old King's Head in Leadenhall Street. Present at this dinner there was the Lord of Ailesbury, the Lord of Montgomery, Sir John Freind, Sir William Perkins, 1 Sir John Fenwick, Peter Cook and Captain Charnock, and possibly a Mr Goodman. Also present was one Captain Porter who later 'trapanned' and became the principal witness for the Crown in the subsequent proceedings.
