ABSTRACT

As soon as the new students arrived, the Christian Union set about introducing them to Jesus.

In my case, their evangelism began the second that my father parked in front of the small out-building of Durham University’s College of St Hild and St Bede where I would be living for the next year. My parents and I were immediately approached by a very friendly third year called Peter who offered to help us unpack the car. He then went about assisting the other students on my corridor in unloading their parents’ cars as well. It was october 1999 and we ranged in age from seventeen to nineteen, with most us leaving home for the first time.
