ABSTRACT
In July 2002, the report of the first stage of the Inquiry into the activities of Harold Shipman was published. This was followed by five further reports. The Inquiry, chaired by Dame Janet Smith, followed the conviction of Shipman for the murder of 15 of his patients. The Shipman Inquiry reports chart a history of unlawful killing spanning more than 20 years and involving at least 215 victims.
