ABSTRACT
In a partial-admission turbine only part of the runner is in contact with water at any time. A typical example of the partial-admission turbine is a Pelton turbine where the water jet hits the runner buckets in turn. This type of turbine is also called a constant pressure turbine since the pressure energy is all converted into velocity in the nozzle and the driving of the bucket by the water jet is all done at atmospheric pressure.
