ABSTRACT

In order to accommodate the international nature of the aerospace industry, standardized contracting processes are necessary. Standardization has been the evolutionary result of buyers and sellers gradually adapting to each other’s processes to facilitate business relationships. Buyers and sellers of virtually every nationality are able to communicate in contractual terms and transact aerospace business relatively smoothly within the framework of these standard processes. Because of the historical dominance of the United States and the United Kingdom in aerospace, many of the business practices are derived from those countries.
