ABSTRACT
The dictionary includes only words which are used in a technical sense within MAD3, and which therefore are to be regarded as terms of art within the context of archival description. As far as possible, definitions have been based on the forthcoming revision of the International Council on Archives’ Dictionary o f Archival Terminology - where the exact ICA definition has been used, this is noted in this list as (ICA). However, variations have been necessary in a few cases because of the development of underlying concepts.
