ABSTRACT
In terms of international exchange of information, ISAD(G) specifies the minimum information required in its Section 1.5 (see p. 265).
8.3 Preliminary or bulk listing Repositories which use a system of double listing (an initial preliminary list, followed in due course by a final description) may aim to produce a brief summary list based upon a rapid initial analysis. MAD does not offer models for preliminary listing, but recommends none the less that analysis into levels be carried out, and level numbers written in the margin against the first line of the entry in any particular description. It should be possible to see to which levels preliminary (or bulk) lists are intended to belong.
