ABSTRACT

New Zealand and Australia undertook fundamental changes in the organization, financing, and operation of air navigation services over the past two decades. Both Airways New Zealand and Airservices Australia have become much more commercially oriented, developed sound and sustainable financial structures, and have become much more effective in their capital program design and implementation. Airservices Australia has been at the forefront on a variety of technology innovations, while Airways New Zealand has provided a model for working closely with aviation customers.
