ABSTRACT

Getting better at dealing with uncertainty – whether by learning from mistakes, or consciously and continually looking for ways to improve – is partly a question of developing the right mindset. Many organizations never really learn to deal more effectively with uncertainty because they lack a strong enough desire to improve. There are plenty of excuses: no time or budget to invest in improvement, too much pressure to deliver, no one available to lead the initiatives. Sometimes there is complacency (how can we improve, we’re already so good!), or just the feeling that improvement is too difficult. To improve, the desire to improve must be part of the mindset.
