ABSTRACT
It is time to examine the traditions that identify the author of the Third Gospel as Luke. This chapter looks first at what there is to learn about Luke from the New Testament, and then examines the writings of the Church Fathers as far as the end of the fourth century to see if there is any consistency between the New Testament and the later writings, and to see if there is a consistent tradition about Luke.
