ABSTRACT
There are other unfamiliar names for this category of drugs. The term coined by Louis Lewin, ‘phantastica’, has a pleasant ring to it and conveys a good deal of the quality of the drug effects. Another was suggested by Moreau – ‘oneirogenic’ (causing dreams). Again this is reasonably accurate, but both these terms must be rejected because of their unfamiliarity.
