ABSTRACT
For a variety of reasons many Presbyterian Churches drifted into Unitarianism and Calvinist Orthodoxy was maintained by the Independent or Congregationalist Churches.2 Amongst the latter, Isaac Watts (Fig. 10.1) almost certainly made the greatest single contribution to worship, and his influence extended well beyond his own tradition and age.
