Appendix 2: Seals of Sir Robert Moray

Moray is remarkable for the number of different symbolic seals he uses on his letters – though quite how unusual this was is hard to know, since seventeenth century historians seldom bother to look at seals. At one point in the 1650s, it was alleged that he had seven seal matrixes in his possession.2
