ABSTRACT

PDQ Training specializes in customer-service and call-centre training using computer-based techniques to replicate their clients' own systems using 'real-life' voice exchanges between sales or information staff and customers. As business grew, and the client-base increased, PDQ Training found that it was not cost-effective to purchase its own equipment, and maintain, repair and support it. CompuHire specializes in hiring out a variety of electronic equipment used by PDQ Training. It has many similar clients to PDQ Training, including several small- and medium-sized equipment-hire companies, which also prefer to sub-hire rather than buy their equipment. It also provides a delivery and recovery service, and offers software and hardware support with technical expertise that its clients find useful. PDQ Training, for example, relies on CompuHire for installing software for the simulations it has designed. PDQ Training was running a week-long training programme for the senior service managers of one of their biggest call-centre clients.
