ABSTRACT

The play exists in a single hand-written copy in the Lord Chamerberlain’s Collection of Plays in the Manuscript Room of the British Library (Add. MS 53063.F). The manuscript is written on plain blue foolscap, using both sides of the paper, in large, regular, legible script (the same hand throughout), which becomes more compressed towards the end. The play is bound with other plays in a large volume whose spine is broken, but the pages are in good condition. The recto pages are numbered 1-17; the verso pages are not numbered. The title page includes the following note:

The Licence No. attached to the manuscript is 15. The Lord Chamberlain’s Day Book has no further information except ‘Date of Licence November 15. Date of Entry November 20’.
