Aswasindicatedintheintroductorymaterialsaccompanyingthebeginning ofPartI,thereareavarietyofoffshorelocationsaroundtheworldwhere jurisdictionandcontroloverhydrocarbondepositshappenstobeindispute asaresultofeitherthedepositsbeingbisectedbyasharedinternational border,ortheexactlocationoftheborderitselfbeingamatterof disagreement.Offshoregeothermalismuchlikehydrocarbons,inthatittoo hasarelativelyfixedlocation.Therefore,comparablesortsofdisputes regardingsucharearealpossibility.Theambientandsomewhatomnipresent natureofenergysourceslikewave,current,and01EC,however,makethem lesssusceptibletodisputesofthesamecharacter.Nonetheless,theimportance ofenergytoeconomicproductionandgrowthcouldwellleadtonation-states oppositeoradjacenttooneanothercontendingthatactivitiesoftheother affectingwave,current,or01ECpotentialfallwithintheregulatorycontrol ofthefirststate.
