ABSTRACT
In the preceding chapter, numerous international humanitarian law instruments were examined and a number of private or individual duties identified in the context of the protection of human rights during times of armed conflict. The focus of this chapter will be the identification and discussion of the position of individual duties contained in international and regional human rights instruments in the peacetime context.
