ABSTRACT
Sexuality is often perceived as a site for wom en’s subordination. Through the institution o f marriage, a w om an’s sexuality is placed under her husband’s control, for his pleasure and for patrilineal procreation. Food and cooking are similarly perceived as part o f w om en’s household chores, adding to the double workload impeding w om en’s advancement in society.
