ABSTRACT
Relevance and Importance To get a sense of the current thinking in any field, or the ‘hot’ topics as some people like to call them, a useful guide is the conference and seminar circuit, and project management is no exception. Indeed, one of the ‘hot’ topics in project management in recent years has been change management, with some people asserting that “all projects are change projects” and “project management IS change management”. From this standpoint then, the relevance and importance of seeing projects and programmes as change processes hardly needs stating, and this is certainly the case for projects and programmes like the one briefly described below.
