ABSTRACT
Relevance and Importance To explain the relevance of the social image, an obvious answer perhaps is people, simply because all projects and programmes involve people. This is clearly true, but the relevance and importance of this core image is much stronger than that. In short, as this chapter will show, of all the images in this book, this is the image which comes closest to describing the actual reality of all projects and programmes. Consider for example the NHS National Programme for IT (NPfIT) summarized in the box below.
