About35yearsago,theworldhaddiscoveredhowtoflyefficientlyanywherein theworldathighsubsonicspeedswithoutbenefitofadvancedflightdeck technologyandcrewinterfaces.Sincethattime,safetyhasimprovedso dramaticallythattheindustrynowhastheluxuryofconcentratingitseffortsfor improvingsafetyonarelativelyfewagendas.Robusttechnologicalsolutionsare insightformajorcausesforaccidentsinvolvingtheflightcrew,especially controlledflightintoterrain,lossofcontrol,andapproachandlanding.Soone mightlegitimatelyquestionwhethermuchmoreadvancementinthestateofthis artisjustified.
