ABSTRACT

In this chapter we will address press conferences as well as industry analyst events. The reason is that they are often considered to be identical. However, there are subtle differences. Analysts and journalists have different skills and different requirements. Thus, spokespeople need to provide different content – or at least the same content needs to be packaged in a different way. And you may use different tactics to deliver the messages. Spokespeople need to be aware of these differences, especially when you have decided to mix the audience, that is, journalists and analysts are invited to the same event.
