ABSTRACT
Local youths cannot hold Mobil to ransom by occupying its land facilities and threatening staff as they do in other oil companies. The reason is because Mobil can conveniently afford to keep all its land workers at home fully paid for weeks or a couple of months while oil production will continue to go on. The local people appreciate this fact and that’s part of the reasons why they prefer to dialogue with MPN rather than take extreme measures of protest.9
