ABSTRACT
The pilot should not have to move his head to view the primary symbology. In other words, the IFOV should include the major flightdata symbols in the HUD under normal viewing conditions. Head motion has a tendency to cause or exacerbate spatial disorientation or vertigo and the HUD should be designed to minimize this. Further, it is desirable that primary flight data be contained within the intersecting binocular FOV.
