ABSTRACT

In this part, I will briefly cover the transformation of the European Union and the emergence of the need to construct a common foreign and security policy. In this respect, my greatest attention will be on the post-Cold War era. When talking about European foreign policy, I mainly refer to the foreign policies of the member states and policies of some bodies of the European Union. Since some examples about the policies of the member states are given in another chapter, here my focus will be on the Common Foreign and Security Policy of the EU.
