ABSTRACT

The next main step of TNA is task analysis. There is a certain degree of possible commonality between the approaches used for mission and task analysis, since both are concerned with the description of behaviour. The difference between these approaches is that, during mission analysis, the behaviour of the system is the focus of analysis, whereas during task analysis the focus of analysis is narrowed to the behaviour of the operator or crew manning the system. The operator or crew is embedded within the system, and so it is important also to describe the manmachine interface (MMI) in a task-related manner.
