ABSTRACT
While tactical and operational planning could be relatively straightforward for those few businesses that operate in a simple and stable environment, the majority of businesses operate in an environment that is becoming more complex and volatile. Achieving excellence is made even more challenging by the need to integrate and collaborate with supply chain partners. In this environment, businesses and whole supply chains beyond a single company’s boundary are increasingly dependent on their ability to respond quickly to customer demands and their ability to utilize assets more flexibly and efficiently.
