ABSTRACT

We bave seen that tbe initial conditions of our universe at tbe Big Bang, and the parameters wh ich go into its laws ofpbysics, are just rigbt-'fmely-tuned'-to the required very remarkable degrees of accuracy, for life to occur. 1 We bave seen that a natural conclusion would be that the parameters were designed tbis way, but that tbere are alternatives on offer, most especially some form of multiverse bypotbesis. We now need to examine tbese alternatives in a more rigorous way, utilizing tbe Bayesian apparatus described in tbe last chapter.
