ABSTRACT
The approach to knowledge has changed in our late modern age. The theories of knowledge that since the age of enlightenment have been representing universal claims to the truth are under reappraisal. It no longer seems evident why a universal theory of the essence of knowledge is possible, meaningful, and on the whole desirable.
