ABSTRACT

Developments in flight simulation technology in the past few decades have been dramatic indeed. Anyone who has experienced the latest advancements in flight simulation can only marvel at the ingenuity of the engineers who design and build them. Yet there are aspects of flight simulation which persist as significant barriers to simulator development and use. For the most part, these are obstacles that are likely to remain as such for the foreseeable future. Understanding their fundamental characteristics will aid those involved in the development and use of flight simulators to better apply the simulation technologies available.
