ABSTRACT
Chapters2and3discussedfacilitationofLOFTdebriefing,whichisthe mostfamiliarapplicationoffacilitationinaviationtraining.However, facilitationmightalsobeusedadvantageouslyinseveralotheraspectsof aviationtrainingandselection,althoughthisisnotyetcommonpractice. Thischapterexploresbeneficialwaystoexpandtheuseoffacilitationto othersectorsofairlineoperations.Thereisacaveat-facilitationisnotthe ideal,noreventhepreferredapproachforeverytrainingsituation;insome circumstancestraditionalinstructionalmethodsaremoreeffective.Chapter Idiscussedtherelativeadvantagesanddisadvantagesoffacilitationand traditionallecturemethods.Thischapterbeginswithsomecriteriafor determiningwhetherfacilitationisappropriateforaspecificsituation.
