ABSTRACT

Organizations today have to be able to respond effectively to change and the development of groups and teams is a part of this process. The importance of this issue is being realized more and more, to the extent that some organizations are in danger of overreacting and making the development of effective teams the only dimension of their change process, which it will never be. Groups arid teams are a fundamental part of the management of any change process. The senior team, the board of directors, are jointly responsible for the way the organization is run; they have to decide how their business will cope with the demands of change that they see all around them. Group working has been used throughout history to achieve a variety of objectives. The Greeks, for example, used this method as a way of trying to understand the universe and the way that human beings related to each other.
