ABSTRACT
Philosophy evidently has been, and continues to be, a constitutive part of Christian theology. That the two disciplines have had a history of varying kinds of interconnectedness is equally clear. Further, the study of philosophy - understood both as the study of culture in general and as the study of certain classic texts and persistent questions - has become an element in the education of Christians for both pastoral and scholarly ministry.
