ABSTRACT
Life boat ethics scenarios are the guinea pigs of moral philosophers. Extreme examples are posited, to which different moral systems are applied. The result of applying the systems is then assessed according to preexisting moral intuitions. And that assessment is presumed to reflect back on the goodness/ badness or rightness/wrongness of the moral system(s) in question.
