ABSTRACT

In Chapter 1 it was argued that there is such a thing as divine speaking. The subject that will now be addressed is the nature of this divine speaking. There are three questions that are crucial to an analysis of divine speech:

1. Is divine speaking direct, or deistic? 2. Is divine speaking God’s speaking and not any non-divine human’s speaking, or

is the speaking of some humans who are not divine also God’s speaking? 3. If God speaks in the speaking of humans who are not divine, where and how

does this speech happen?
