ABSTRACT
There is a plethora of information dealing with how to write a disaster control plan (DCP); since the mid 1980s, in Australia certainly, there has been an enormous amount of activity related to writing and developing plans. This chapter takes an overview of that interest and looks at how such plans apply and how useful they really are. Considered mainly from personal experience and the preservation professional’s point of view, it looks at what works and what doesn’t in the process of developing, writing and reviewing DCPs.
