The Information Society and Technology (IST) in Russian Culture: Strategic Review and New Initiatives

Different sources show different figures for the number of Internet users in Russia. For example, according to the Ministry for Economic Development and Trade Data, now (as at the end of 2003) 8.5 million users have access to the Internet, 35% of them use the Internet at home, 45% in their offices, 20% via public access points. In 2005-2006 the number of Internet users in Russia should grow by a factor of 2.3 times and will become 20 million.
