ABSTRACT

In 2007 and 2008 Orion Partners undertook research (Facing up to the Future, available at www.orion-partners.com) into the impact that the transformation of HR had had on HR careers and career structures. Many of our clients had been telling us that the old career paths did not work anymore. We wanted to look at how careers were changing and how organisations were structuring career paths to develop talent in the future (see Figure 5.1).
