ABSTRACT

Conclusion Setting Out the Issue This book began with three main aims. The first of these was to outline and defend the neglected ‘non-rational’ element in Emile Durkheim and Talcott Parsons’s combined writings on the link between religion, morality, and society. These three themes were seen as inextricably linked to one another through the powerful collective stimulation and discharge of emotions that underpinned the workings of each.
