Military pilot performance - dynamic decision making in its extreme

Man has not changed during those thousands of years he/she has used platforms to be better at delivering his/her weapons in war. Even if the platforms have changed a lot, the demands on man seem to have kept pace with the advancements ( cf. Angelborg-Thanderz & Svensson, 1994; Svensson et al., 1996). Old wisdom as that below is still true:

"The warrior needs to know why he is winning battles so he can survive the next one" (Musashi, 1645).
