ABSTRACT
The seventh principle is concerned primarily with the security of personal data. The
basic requirement is that appropriate security must be in place to protect personal
data from loss, damage or disclosure, whether accidental or as a result of unlawful
processing. The more sensitive or confidential the information and the more harm that
would result from accidental loss or disclosure of it, the tighter the security required.
